Update: Personal injury motor vehicle crash Brookfield Road T/Lee

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Camden man was hospitalized after a single vehicle crash on Brookfield Road in Lee just before 5:00 PM today. Kevin J. Mitchell 32, of Camden was driving a Kia suburban west on Brookfield Road when he lost consciousness. Mitchell's vehicle then crossed the oncoming lane and left Brookfield Road where it first struck a rock wall and then a tree.

Mitchell was transported by AmCare ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital where he is under observation after sustaining non-life threatening injuries. Mitchell was charged with Driving while ability impaired by drugs, Aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and failure to keep right and issued tickets returnable to Lee Town Court.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by members of Lee Center Fire &Rescue, AmCare ambulance and the New York State Police.
