According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a male was arrested following a domestic incident in the Town of Verona.

On December 21, 2020 at about 10:56 PM., Deputies responded to an address on Hill Rd. in the Town of Verona for a reported physical domestic involving a shotgun.

Investigation into the domestic incident revealed that Steven W. Reed, age 67 from Verona, NY had an argument with the victim, struck the victim in the face several times with a closed fist and threatened the victim with a shotgun. Reed was taken into custody and brought to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office. Reed was charged with Menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor and Harassment in the second degree, a Violation. Reed was booked/processed at the Sheriff's Office and then brought the Oneida County Correctional Facility where he is being held so he can be arraigned in CAP Court.

Several long guns were secured from the residence where the domestic incident occurred.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police.
