Two Utica Men Charged with Murder According to the Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit along with the Warrants Unit arrested Jalil D. Pacheco, age 20 of Utica, NY, and Isaiah A. Moore, age 20 of Utica, NY in connection with a homicide that took place on January 8th, 2020 in the Town of Whitestown. These arrests stem from an investigation into an incident that took place on January 8, 2020, where the lifeless body of Quaheem Holland, age 20 of Utica, NY, was found in an abandoned motor vehicle on Westmoreland Road in the Town of Whitestown. As a result of the investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and assisted by the Utica Police Department and NY State Police Special Investigation Unit, Pacheco and Moore were identified as suspects in the case. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office along with the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office continued with the investigation and the District Attorney’s Office presented the case to a Grand Jury. A Grand Jury indictment was handed down and warrants were issued by Oneida County Court for Murder in the 2nd degree. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Warrant’s Unit was able to locate Pacheco in the City of Syracuse on December 28th, 2020. The Sheriff’s Warrants Unit, along with members of the US Marshal’s NYNJ Regional Task Force, the NYS Police Violent Felony Unit, and the Syracuse Police Department were able to take Pacheco into custody without incident on the Arrest Warrant. Moore turned himself in at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office on December 29, 2020 also for an Arrest Warrant of Murder in the 2nd Degree. On December 29, 2020 at approximately 2:00 p.m. Jalil D. Pacheco and Isaiah A. Moore were arraigned by virtual arraignment from the Oneida County Correctional Facility by Judge Robert Bauer on the charge of Murder in the 2nd degree. The two are being held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility on no bail. The next Court proceeding is February 8th, 2021.
