According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Vernon Center man was injured after a single car crash at the intersection of Gifford and Skinner Roads in the Town of Vernon just before 4:00 PM today. Joseph R. Clark, 33, of Vernon Center was driving a Chrysler sedan west on Skinner Road and failed to reduce his speed while attempting a left turn onto Gifford Road. Clark's vehicle went off Gifford Road and struck a tree. Clark complained of pain on his left side and was transported by Vineall ambulance to Oneida City Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Clark was ticked for speed not reasonable and issued a traffic summons returnable to Vernon Town Court. Members of Vernon Fire and Vineall ambulance assisted on scene.
