According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, a 52 year old Utica man has been arrested for having sexual contact with a 13 year old female.

On January 8, 2021, the Child Advocacy Center received a report that Ricky Thompson subjected a 13 year old girl to sexual contact in October of 2019, in the City of Utica.

Utica Police Department Investigator Titus Ciccone, assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, conducted the investigation.

On February 8, 2021, Investigator Titus Ciccone assisted by Oneida County Sheriff’s Investigator Ryan Marshall arrested Ricky Thompson, in the City of Utica, charging him with one count of Sexual Abuse in the second degree (A Misdemeanor) and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor).

Thompson is accused of subjecting the 13 year old girl to sexual contact, and threatening to harm her if she told anyone.

Ricky Thompson was arraigned in Utica City Court and was remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.

Thompson is also being held at the Oneida County Jail without bail on a Violation of Parole hold.

An Order of Protection has been requested on behalf of the victim and services have been offered to the victim through the Child Advocacy Center.
