According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On February 20, 2021 at about 1257 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of State Route 365 and Blackmans Corners Rd in the Town of Verona for a reported two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Alden Vierow (95), of Whitesboro, NY, was operating a blue 2013 Hyundai Sonata and was stopped at the stop sign on the northern side of Blackmans Corners Rd. Due to failure to yield the right of way and driver inattention, Vierow entered the roadway crossing the westbound lanes of traffic before striking a black 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling eastbound on Route 365 in the driving lane operated by Gregory Regulbuto (71), of Canastota, NY, in the front end with the front end of his vehicle. Both vehicles exited the southern shoulder of Route 365 coming to rest in the snow bank.

Vierow was transported from the scene to St Elizabeth Hospital for minor lacerations and stomach and lower back pain. Regulbuto was transported from the scene to Rome Memorial Hospital to be evaluated for minor complaints of pain. The front seat passenger in Regulbuto’s vehicle, Lynda Kuhry (71), of Syracuse, NY, was transported from the scene to Rome Memorial Hospital for an ankle injury and the back seat passenger of Regulbuto’s vehicle, E. Regulbuto (67), of Canastota, NY, was also transported from the scene to Rome Memorial Hospital for minor complaints of pain. Vierow was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign returnable to Town of Verona court at a later date.
