According to Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol, a Vienna man was arrested on March 17, 2021 in the City of Rome. At about 10:59 A.M., OCSO Sgt. M. Bolton initiated a traffic stop on Rome Taberg Road. The operator of the vehicle, Jason Corteux, age 35, of Vienna, intentionally misidentified himself as another individual, however his actual identity was eventually confirmed and he was taken into custody by Sgt. Bolton and Deputy T. Barnes. It was then learned that Corteux, who is a NYS Parolee, currently under Parole Supervision, was operating said vehicle on a suspended license. Corteux was also found to be in possession of a glass smoking device, which he had concealed on his person. The contents of the glass smoking device tested positive for methamphetamine. Corteux was charged with Criminal Impersonation Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, both Class A Misdemeanors. Corteux was also charged with numerous Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations. Due to New York State Bail Reform Laws, Corteux was released on appearance tickets made returnable to Rome City Court on a later date.
