SHERIFF MACIOL ISSUES LAST MINUTE REMINDER ABOUT UPCOMING CIVIL SERVICE EXAM FOR CORRECTION OFFICER

Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol is announcing to anyone who may be interested in a career with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, that there is only two days left to sign up to take an entrance exam for the position of Correction Officer at the Sheriff’s Office.

Those interested in becoming a Correction Officer have until the end of business on this Friday, April 16th to apply to take the exam and the exam will be given on June 5th, 2021. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age on or before the date of appointment, they must possess a high school diploma or equivalency, and be a resident of Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oswego, or Otsego counties. The starting salary for a Correction Officer is $35,862 and advances to $42,191 after successful completion of the Basic Corrections Academy or after successfully completing six months of employment in the bargaining unit.
