Holland Patent Man Arrested

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit made an arrest of a 47 year old Holland Patent Man after a four month investigation . David L. Spoon, 47, of Holland Patent was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, a class D Felony. Spoon used a check from a closed bank account which he signed another person’s name to as the “maker”, then proceeded to give it to a 85 year old victim who attempted to deposit it as payment.

Spoon was taken into custody at his residence on April 20, 2021 without incident. He was taken to Centralized Arraignment Court where he was released on his own recognizance. While Spoon was in custody it was discovered that he was wanted on an Arrest Warrant out of the City of Utica. He was turned over to Utica Police Department where he was arraigned on the arrest warrant and released on his own recognizance on the charge of Petit Larceny.

The case is forwarded to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office and more charges are pending.
