According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, on 21 April 2021 at 8:30PM, Deputies along with State Troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of State Route 365 and State Route 31 in the Town of Verona.

Tamara A. Abbuhl, (36) of Rome, was operating her 2008 Jeep Patriot southbound on State Route 31. Abbuhl failed to stop at the red traffic signal and continued through the intersection, colliding into a 2007 Ford traveling west on State Route 365. The 2007 Ford was being operated by a Julia A. Arbes, (20) of Rome. Arbes sustained injuries from the accident and was transported to Oneida City Hospital where she received treatment. Deputies on scene were assisted by the New York State Police and Vineall Ambulance. Abbuhl was issued a traffic summons for passing through a red light which is returnable to Verona Town Court at a later date.
