Today, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office joined the Utica Police Department, Center for Family Life and Recovery and Oneida County Government for National Take Back Day.

National Take Back Day provides a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Today's event netted 1,460 pounds of expired and unused prescription and over the counter medications.

Thank you to all who properly disposed of medication today.

If you did not make today's event and have medication to dispose of please visit https://www.whenthereshelpthereshope.com/services/prevention-services/community-environmental-strategies/ for locations of MedReturn Units.
