According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, 1 man faces charges following a domestic incident in the Town of Westmoreland.

On May 04, 2021, at approximately 7:09 pm, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol responded to Greenway Lowell Road in the Town of Westmoreland for a physical domestic dispute. During the investigation, deputies on scene determined Derick M. Ball, age 36 of Greenway Lowell Road, to be in violation of an order of protection after he had gotten into a physical altercation with the victim. When Deputies were attempting to arrest Ball, he fled on foot and was ultimately taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Ball was subsequently arrested and charged with Harassment 2nd, a violation, and three misdemeanors consisting of Criminal Contempt 2nd, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd, and Resisting Arrest. Ball was transported to the LEB where he was booked/processed and then brought to the Oneida County Jail for pre-arraignment detention.
