According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, a Utica woman was arrested following a traffic stop in the City of Utica.

On May 05th, 2021 at approximately 1:02 am, a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Oneida County STOP-DWI unit conducted a traffic stop on a grey in color Jeep Cherokee on Whitesboro Street in the City of Utica after observing vehicle and traffic law violations in the Village of Yorkville.

As the Deputy spoke with the driver, Taicoya S. Wynder 34, of Utica New York, he noticed indicators of impairment by alcohol. Wynder was ultimately put through standardized field sobriety testing which showed that Wynder was intoxicated.

Wynder was subsequently taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated where she was then transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Building where she was booked/processed for her charges.

Wynder was charged with the following:

(2) Counts of endangering the welfare of a child

(1) Count of Driving While Intoxicated

(1) Count of DWI 0.08% BAC or greater

(1) Count of Aggravated DWI

(1) Count of Felony DWI – Leandra’s law

- Additional traffic violations

After Wynder was booked/processed for her charges, she was transported to CAP court pending arraignment in the morning.

During the investigation, The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Yorkville Police Department.
