According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on May 10th, 2021 at 4:14 P.M., Deputies along with State Police responded to a Personal Injury motor vehicle accident on State Route 49 in the Town of Floyd.

Duaine M. Crouse, (69) of Rome, was operating his 2013 Dodge Caravan westbound on State Route 49. Duaine failed to check his blind spot while switching lanes causing him to collide into a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander which was operated by a Joulian N. Milanov, (40) of Rome. Due to the speed of the incident, Duaine, Joulian, and all three of his passengers were transported via AmCare and Kunkel ambulances to Rome Memorial Hospital for evaluations.

Duaine was issued a traffic citation for causing the accident, which is returnable to Floyd Town Court. Deputies and State Police were assisted on scene by the Floyd Fire Department, AmCare Ambulance, and Kunkel Ambulance.
