According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, A Lee Center Man was injured following a single car motor vehicle accident on W. Thomas Street, in the City of Rome.

At about 5:43 PM, on May 13, 2021, a patrol deputy was dispatched to the area of W. Thomas Street for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.

While on scene, it was determined that Brian Defraine, age 49, of Lee Center, was traveling on W Thomas St in the City of Rome when Defraine appeared to have a medical emergency, which caused Defraine to strike a telephone and then crossed the roadway before coming to rest in a wooded area.

Defraine was transported by AmCare ambulance to Rome Memorial Hospital for injuries he sustained during the motor vehicle accident. New York State Police and Rome Fire Department assisted with the motor vehicle accident.
