According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on May 14, 2021, at about 4:00pm, deputies responded to the intersection of E. Main Street and Buell Ave, Village of Waterville, for a personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Jason Smith, 45, of Holland Patent, was operating a 2008 Ford Pickup when he failed to yield the right away while making a left hand turn on to E. Main Street from Buell Ave and struck James Buzzell, 61, of West Winfield who was operating a 2006 Nissan Pickup.

Buzzell suffered minor injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth's hospital for further evaluation.

Smith was cited for failure to yield right of way and is to report to Waterville Village Court on a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted by New York State Police, Waterville Fire Department, and Central Oneida County Ambulance.
