According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Utica man has been arrested after a domestic incident occurred at a residence in the Village of Whitesboro. During the early morning hours of May 15, 2021, the Oneida County 911 Center received a call from an individual reporting a domestic incident that had just occurred involving a firearm. Moments later, the Oneida County 911 Center put out a BOLO (be on the lookout) for an individual in a specific vehicle that was possibly in possession of a firearm. McBride, age 28, threatened a female with a firearm while inside a residence located in the Village of Whitesboro. Deputies performed a traffic stop on the vehicle on John Street in the City of Rome and once the vehicle was stopped, Shai A. McBride was located and subsequently found to be in possession of an unregistered firearm, a Hi Point model 09 9mm luger. While multiple deputies were attempting to take McBride into custody, a second male exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle in question was later searched and a second unregistered firearm was located inside, a Diamondback DB9 9mm. McBride was then transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with the following charges:
