According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on June 1, 2021, at around 06:45 A.M., Road Patrol Deputies responded to the vicinity of Youngs Road in the Town of Vernon for reports of a serious physical injury motor vehicle accident.

Though the accident is still being investigated by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Forensics Unit and Criminal Investigation Unit, it was discovered that a 20 year old male, Jacob R. Bouck, was operating a 2005 Subaru Outback in a westerly direction on Youngs Road in the Town of Vernon when he left his lane of travel and entered into the east bound lane of travel. Once in the east bound lane of travel, Bouck’s vehicle struck a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit being operated by a 50 year old female, Tracy A. Cornish, who was traveling easterly on Youngs Road. Cornish sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. Bouck was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for reports of chest and leg pains. At this time, Bouck’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Vernon Fire Department and Vineall Ambulance Service. During the investigation Youngs Road was closed and have now been re-opened for traffic. At this time, the investigation is still on going in an attempt to determine what caused Bouck’s vehicle to leave his lane of travel.
