According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at approximately 10:59 am, Road Patrol Deputies responded to 9250 Route 12 in the Town of Trenton for a reported personal injury car-pedestrian accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that a 6 year-old female, of Remsen, was attempting to get into a GMC pick-up truck in the parking lot of Cindy’s Diner, when she was bumped by the vehicle, causing her to fall to the ground. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the operator of the vehicle, Daniel Millick, 60, of Remsen, NY, was unaware that the female was not seated in the vehicle, as he began to back out of a parking space. As he was backing the vehicle in a Southerly direction, he bumped into the female with the vehicle at a slow rate of speed, which caused her to fall to the ground. The female was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A passenger of the vehicle, Kenneth Millick, 31, of Remsen, was also injured when attempting to exit the vehicle, after it struck the female child. He was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by members of the Barneveld Vol. Fire Company, STaR Ambulance, and the New York State Police.
