Sheriff’s Office Holds Corrections Officer Academy Graduation Ceremony

Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol is honored to announce the graduating class of the 2021 Corrections Officer Academy. The Sheriff’s Office conducts their corrections training alongside the Mohawk Valley Police Academy also located at MVCC. The Corrections Academy consists of eight weeks of classroom learning, practical exercises, physical fitness training, and military drills.

As always, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office extends invitations to the neighboring counties that have officers in need of their basic training. This year, the Lewis and Madison County Sheriff’s Offices sent some of their officers to Oneida County’s training academy.

As part of the ceremony, Sheriff Maciol pinned the badges on all of the Oneida County and Lewis County recruits and Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood pinned the badges on the Madison County recruits.
