According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, two people sustained minor injuries following a two car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Higginsville Rd and Yager Rd in the Town of Verona.

At about 3:15 PM, on June 14, 2021, a patrol deputy was dispatched to the intersection of Higginsville Rd and Yager Road for a two car motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.

While on scene, it was determined that Dolores Fowler, age 57, of Blossvale was traveling on Higginsville Road in the Town of Verona when Carl Vogel, age 51, of Whitesboro failed to stop at the stop sign on Yager Road causing both vehicles to collide in the intersection.

Fowler was transported by AmCare ambulance to Oneida Hospital for injuries she sustained during the motor vehicle accident. Vogel was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital by a family member. New York DEC Spill Response and New London Fire Department assisted with the motor vehicle accident.

Vogel was issued a citation returnable to Verona Town Court at a later date.
