According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, a 40 year old Bridgewater man was arrested on Father’s Day for a domestic violence incident that occurred in Bridgewater.

As investigated and reported by Deputy B. Warcup, Charles J. Ostrosky, 40, of Bridgewater was arrested following a physical domestic violence incident at his home. The incident actually began at about 8:30 PM on June 19, with a female at the residence and continued on and off through the night until the female was able to call police at about 10:00AM this morning. During the course of the night and early morning hours, Ostrosky took the female’s phone and damaged it and refused to allow her to use it and call for help, he also struck the female in the back with a piece of 2x4 wood. Also during the night Ostrosky pulled her hair and threw her around the bedroom and punched her in the back of the head and choked her. It wasn’t until the late morning that she convinced Ostrosky to give her back the phone which she then discreetly used it to call for help. The female was evaluated on the scene by Bridgewater EMS for minor injuries but refused transport to the hospital. Ostrosky was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Mischief for not allowing her to call for help and damaging the phone, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Menacing 2nd, and harassment. Ostrosky was lodged at the Oneida County Jail awaiting arraignment in the Centralized Arraignment Court. Also assisting in the investigation was Deputy L. Brognano and NYSP Tpr Lomonico.
