According to Sheriff Robert Maciol of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, on June 24, 2021, at about 7:18 PM Oneida County Sheriff Deputies and members of the Criminal Investigation Unit responded to Route 20 in Bridgewater for a motorcycle accident. Upon an initial investigation, it was learned that Daniel Marley, 32 of Bridgewater, NY was traveling eastbound on Route 20. Marley lost control of his motorcycle in the area of Donley Rd and was unable to regain control before striking a guide rail. Marley was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash. At this time the accident is still under investigation. A section of Route 20 that was closed to traffic for this investigation has now been opened back up. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Bridgewater Fire Department.
