According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on June 30th, 2021 at 4:27PM, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle rollover motor vehicle accident that occurred on Beartown Rd North, in the Town of Western. Omar Mejias-Acevedo (39) of Utica was operating a Reddington Services Inc cement truck, in a Southerly direction on Beartown Rd North at a speed not reasonable and prudent for the slippery road conditions, causing the cement truck to slide off the roadway and rollover onto its side, causing property damage only. Beartown Rd was closed off for a short period of time, due to crews having to remove the over sized vehicle. The Oneida County Sherriff's Office was assisted by the Town of Western Volunteer Fire Department and Shufelts Tow. Mejias-Acevedo, did not sustain any injuries during this incident and was cited on scene for speed not reasonable and prudent, returnable to Western Town Court.
