According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on July 8th, 2021 around 2:20 PM Deputies responded to the report of a structure fire located on Arquint Road in the Town of Vernon. Once on scene Deputies were advised that there had been one individual at the residence at the time of the fire, but the male was able to safely exit the residence prior to the residence becoming fully engulfed. The male party stated he was not injured nor did he need medical attention. Deputies were assisted on scene by Vernon Fire Department, Vernon Center Fire Department, Verona Fire Department, Sherrill Fire Department as well as the Oneida Castle Fire Department.

At this time the fire has been extinguished and the incident has been investigated. It was determined that the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
