According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, as of 07/09/2021 at 1000 AM,there are still several roads closed in the Town of Western following last nights storm. Main St between Dopp Hill Rd and Route 46, in the Hamlet of Westernville will be closed for an extended time, possibly throughout the night due to several trees and powerlines down.

Stokes Westernville Rd between Main St and River Rd is also closed.

State Route 46 between Main St and the Delta Lake State park is closed due to a Motor Vehicle accident. Lamar Radford, age 29, of Kansas City MO, was operating a 2016 Peterbuilt tractor trailer, north on Route 46 when the trailer struck low hanging wires. The wires then snapped a nearby utility pole and the pole fell and struck an unoccupied National Grid Line Truck, causing damage to the windshield. There are no injuries.

The Sheriff's Office is asking the public to avoid the area while utility crews continue to work.
