According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on July 24, 2021, at 7:15 AM, deputies responded to State Route 49 in the Town of Vienna for a reported motor vehicle accident with personal injuries. Cory Delahunt, age 36, of Rome was operating a Dodge Ram pickup truck west on Route 49 when he lost control of the truck and collided with the ditch on the north shoulder, causing the truck to overturn. Delehunt suffered injuries to his head and legs. His front seat passenger, Ronald Wood, age 51, of Rome suffered injuries to his neck and back, while the rear seat passenger Jackie Colmey, age 39, of Rome suffered injuries her back and legs. All the injuries are non life threating. All three were transported to St Elizabeth’s Hospital by AmCare Ambulance and Camden Ambulance for further treatment. The Vienna Fire Dept and New York State Police assisted on scene. No tickets have been issued, however, the accident remains under investigation.
