Today at the Oneida County Sheriff's Office 9 local youth participated in a long-time tradition of attending the New York State Sheriffs' Institute & Summer Camp in Penn Yan, NY.

New York State Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon joined Sheriff Maciol in wishing the children safe travels and a great week at Camp.

The Sheriffs’ Summer Camp is a program of the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute, Inc. The Sheriffs’ Institute was established in 1979 to assist the office of the Sheriff in advancing education in the criminal justice community, and supporting victims of crime and their families.

The camp is made possible with financial support from honorary members of the Sheriff’s Institute. The camp sees over 900 children ages 9 to 12 at no charge.
