According to the Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, on Monday, August 2, 2021, at approximately 8:26 am, Road Patrol Deputies responded to the intersection of Cavanaugh Rd and Jones Rd in the Town of Marcy for a reported motor vehicle accident,

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Serena Scholefield, 21, of Utica, was operating a 2020 BMW Sedan in a northern direction on Cavanaugh Rd. when Ashley Lee, 29, of Utica, operating a 2016 Honda Civic, entered the roadway way from the eastern direction. Scholefield attempted to swerve left, attempting to avoid Lee but was unsuccessful, subsequently striking lee's vehicles. Scholefield and Lee were both transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Maynard Fire Department and Kunkel ambulance.
