According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a New York State Parolee has been arrested after a domestic incident occurred at a residence located in the Town of Trenton. On August 16, 2021, the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit received a phone call from the Utica Police Department regarding the arrest of Todd Thompson, age 30, on weapons charges. The Sheriff’s Office was given information that prior to Thompson’s arrest in the City of Utica, he was involved in a physical domestic dispute with a female in the Town of Trenton. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Unit responded to the Utica Police Department to investigate the domestic dispute incident. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Thompson for Criminal Obstructing of Breathing- an A Misdemeanor, Menacing in the Second Degree- an A Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree- a D Felony and Criminal Possession of a Firearm- an E Felony. Thompson was already being held at the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment in CAP Court on the criminal charges from the City of Utica. Thompson would also be arraigned in CAP Court on the criminal charges stemming from the domestic in the Town of Trenton. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Utica Police Department and New York State Parole.
