According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On August 20, 2021 at about 9:42 AM, Deputies responded to State Route 365 westbound near the Turning Stone Casino entrance in the Town of Verona for a reported two car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Paul Cayen (64), of East Syracuse, NY, was operating a grey 2016 Chrysler sedan Southwest on Route 365 and had entered the left turn lane for the TS Casino entrance. Due to following too closely and speed not reasonable for road conditions, Cayen was unable to stop for traffic and struck a grey 2019 Hyundai sedan that was stopped also in the left turn lane, operated by Amanda Manchester (29) of Schenectady, NY, in the rear-end with the front end of his vehicle causing heavy damage.

Manchester was transported by Vineall Ambulance to St Elizabeth Hospital for back pain. The front seat passenger in Manchester’s vehicle, Christine Arguinzoni (31) of Schenectady, NY, was transported by Vineall Ambulance to St Elizabeth Hospital for neck and back pain. Cayen was issued citations for Following Too Closely and Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent returnable to Verona Town Court at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office were assisted on scene by Verona Fire Department, Vineall Ambulance, and the Oneida Indian Nation Police.
