SHERIFF ISSUES IMPORTANT LAST MINUTE REMINDER IN REGARDS TO UPCOMING CIVIL SERVICE EXAM & CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT EFFORTS

Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol reminds anyone interested in a career with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office that there is ONLY ONE DAY LEFT to sign up to take an entrance exam for Deputy Sheriff in the Road Patrol Division.

Also, there is a continuous recruitment effort ongoing for both full and part time Correction Officers in the Corrections Division at the Sheriff’s Office.

Those interested in becoming a Deputy Sheriff have until the end of business on Wednesday, August 25th to apply to take the exam and the exam will be given on September 18th. Applicants must be at least 19 years of age on or before the date of the exam, they must possess a high school diploma or equivalency, and be a resident of Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oswego, or Otsego counties. The starting salary for a Deputy Sheriff is $41,235 and advances to 48,512 after successful completion of your initial required training.

Those interested in becoming a full or part time Correction Officer must be at least 18 years of age on or before the date of appointment, they must possess a high school diploma or equivalency, and be a resident of Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oswego, or Otsego counties.
