According to Sheriff Robert Maciol of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, on August 28, 2021, at about 11:45 PM, Sheriff's Deputies investigated a UTV accident located in the back yard of 3114 Haskins Rd in the Town of Vienna, right next to the Treasure Isle RV Park. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that George Kirk, age 42 of Vienna, was operating a 2019 Polaris 900 HD side by side UTV along with his passenger, Brian Strong age 66 who lives on the property. Kirk was operating the UTV in the rear yard of 3114 Haskins Road, driving the UTV in circles in the yard and when he was doing circles the UTV rolled over which ejected Kirk pinning him under the UTV. Strong was not ejected and was stuck inside of the UTV. Bystanders and Sheriff Deputies, who were on the scene investigating another incident, at the RV park, rushed to assist the UTV off of Kirk and started to provide medical attention to Kirk. Vienna Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance responded to the scene to continue medical treatment. Strong did not complain of any injuries and was transported to St Elizabeth Hospital for an evaluation by AmCare Ambulance. Kirk was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical Center by Mercy Flight Helicopter for injuries to his head, face, and chest. The investigation is still pending.
