According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on September 8th 2021 at about 4:25 P.M., Deputies responded to State Route 12 in the Town of Paris for a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, deputies determined Michael Merriman was operating a passenger vehicle traveling in a northern direction on State Route 12. While in the area of Fountain Street, Michael was operating the vehicle at a speed not reasonable for the roadway conditions which caused Michael's vehicle to hydroplane. At this point Michael lost all control of the vehicle and entered the western embankment of the roadway causing the vehicle to overturn one time.

Michael was evaluated and treated for complaints of a small laceration on the head by Edwards Ambulance. Michael was released on scene by Edwards Ambulance.

At this time, Michael is asking for anyone in the nearby area of State Route 12 and Fountain Street to be on the lookout for a black labrador with the name of Piper. Piper has a small white patch on the chest and can be in a confused state due to being in the vehicle at the time of the accident. If located contact the Oneida County Sheriff's Office at (315)736-0141.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Paris Hill Fire Department and Edwards Ambulance.
