According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a City of Utica woman was arrested for stealing from an elderly resident at her place of employment. On August 18, 2021, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Unit responded to the Lutheran Home located in the Town of Kirkland for a report of a resident who had her jewelry stolen. The case was subsequently turned over to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit. On September 10, 2021, the Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Mirella Perez-Rodriguez, age 22, for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, both Felonies. After Perez-Rodriguez was processed she was transported to the Oneida County Jail where she was held pending an arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Court. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted with this investigation by the Kirkland Police Department.
