According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Friday, September 24th, 2021 at approximately 6:37 P.M. Road Patrol Deputies responded to State Route 365 in the Outer District of Rome for a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Natalie M. Legler, 52, of Vernon, was operating a 2015 Jeep westbound on State Route 365 when she ran a red light at the intersection of South James Street. The running of said traffic light caused her to collide into another vehicle that was in the intersection. The other vehicle, a 2009 Ford, was being operated by a Benjamin J. Miller, 20, of Rome. Both parties sustained injuries from the accident but only Natalie was transported to Oneida City hospital for further evaluation on her injuries. Deputies were assisted on scene by Rome Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance.
