Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, Director of the Child Advocacy Center, announces the arrest of Level 2 Registered Sex Offender Antonio Gualandi, age 32, for failing to register his change of address. In September 2021, OCSO Sergeant Melissa Bolton, who is assigned at the CAC, commenced an investigation regarding Gualandi, after information was obtained that he was not residing at the address he had last registered with the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services. As per the NYS Sex Offender Registration Act, registered sex offenders are required to notify the Department of Criminal Justice Services of any change of address within ten calendar days. An arrest warrant was issued by Whitestown Court for the charge of Failure to Register Change of Address, a Class E felony under the NYS Corrections Law and on October 11, 2021, Gualandi was located in the city of Rome by members of the Rome Police Department. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division was contacted and Gualandi was taken into custody where he was arraigned at Central Arraignment Court and then released on his own recognizance.
