According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on Thursday October 21st Sheriff’s deputies and investigators from the criminal investigation unit and ID Unit responded to an armed robbery at the Sunoco Station on Martin Street in the outer district of Rome. It happened just before 9PM. According to the clerk, a black male walked into the store, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded money. He made off with an unknown amount of cash. The male was dressed in white pants and a black hoodie. Anyone who may have been in the area and seen this person or saw anything suspicious is asked to call the criminal investigation unit at 315-765-2737.
