Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol and the members of the Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate, Sergeant Joseph Surace, on his retirement after 29 years of service with the agency. Sergeant Surace has worked for the Sheriff’s Office in multiple capacities including, Corrections Officer, Instructor on numerous corrections and law enforcement topics, Sheriff’s Dive Team Leader, Investigator, S.E.R.T. (Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team) Commander, and Sergeant assigned to the Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center. He plans on spending his free time with his family and enjoying the outdoors. We wish him good health and happiness after close to three decades of protecting the people of Oneida County.
