According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, all transports from the Oneida County Correctional Facility to outside courts have been temporarily suspended due to an increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases from within the jail. All court appearances, except for scheduled trials and other emergencies that may come up, will be conducted virtually from the Oneida County Correctional Facility. As of today, (21) incarcerated individuals have tested positive and (15) Correction Officers have tested positive. This temporary change will be in effect for the next two weeks and will be re-evaluated daily to determine if this time frame can be shortened or if it needs to be extended.
