Updated news release from the earlier reported robbery.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, at approximately 8:30 pm on December 10, 2021, there was a robbery reported at the A&M Rome Sunoco gas station located at 4644 Rome- Taberg Rd. in the Town of Lee, formerly known as the New England Style Market. The Sheriff’s Office responded and secured the store. The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit and Forensic Identification Unit also responded and determined that a robbery had in fact occurred and that the suspect displayed what appeared to be a handgun while demanding cash from the clerk. The suspect fled the store on foot and appeared to head in an easterly direction towards Rome with an unknown amount of cash. The suspect appeared to be a black female, approximately 5 foot tall wearing winter clothing and a mask.
