According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, on September 23, 2021, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Unit responded to Access Federal Credit Union located in the Town of Kirkland for a Grand Larceny complaint.

The investigation was then turned over to the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit where Andrew G. Bavo, age 26 from the City of Oneida was identified as a suspect.

During the investigation, it was determined that Bavo left New York State and moved to an unknown location in the State of Texas. At that time, an arrest warrant was requested and issued for Bavo through Kirkland Town Court. On December 15, 2021, Bavo was arrested by the City of Oneida Police Department on unrelated charges and was found to be wanted by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office for this charge. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Warrant’s Unit took custody of Bavo after he was arraigned in Madison County and released on bail. Bavo was transported back to the LEB where he was processed on the arrest warrant, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a D Felony.

Bavo was then transported to the Oneida County Jail where he was held pending an arraignment in CAP Court. After Bavo’s arraignment in CAP Court, he was released on his own recognizance.​
