According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, on Friday, December 24, 2021, at about 12:55 A.M., Deputies responded to the area of State Route 233 and Seymour Lane in the Town of Westmoreland, for a reported personal injury motor vehicle accident. Investigation into the accident determined that Michael Pritchard (23), of Blossvale, was operating a 2009 Kia in a northerly direction on State Route 233, when a 2016 Mitsubishi, operated by Richard Young (63), of Clinton, failed to stop prior to entering State Route 233 from the driveway of the Station 233 bar. Pritchard was unable to avoid the collision, and subsequently struck the front driver side of Young's vehicle, causing heavy damage to both vehicles. Both Pritchard and Young were transported to St. Elizabeth's hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in Pritchard's vehicle, Taylor Madore, was uninjured as a result of the collision.

No tickets have been issued at this time as the incident remains under investigation.

Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted on scene by the Westmoreland Fire Department, Central Oneida County Ambulance, Clinton Collision, and Upstate Auto Gallery.
