According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol members of the Road Patrol responded to an address in Clayville on December 22nd in the morning for a domestic incident. The suspect, John Decarolis, 30 of Eaton had an active order of protection that was issued out of Town of Paris Court that he violated. Decarolis showed up at his estranged wife's residence who was the protected party and broke a window. Decarolis then fled the scene and patrol members were unable to locate him. The case was then turned over to the Criminal Investigations Unit where charges of Criminal Mischief 4th, a class A Misdemeanor and Criminal Contempt 1st, a class E Felony charges were filed.

An arrest warrant was issued and the Warrants Unit was able to follow up on the whereabouts of Decarolis with the help of the public. Decarolis was taken into custody without issue in the City of Utica by members of the Warrants Unit as they were assisted by the Utica Police Department Warrants Unit. Decarolis was transported to the Oneida County Cap Court and was arraigned and sent to Oneida County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.

Decarolis was also involved in another incident at the same residence on Christmas Day in the morning hours. In that incident, Decarolis again showed up at the residence where there was an active order of protection against him. When the victim heard Decarolis yelling outside she called 911 and Decarolis then fled the scene. Once again charges were filed and an arrest warrant for Criminal Contempt 1st, a Class E Felony and Harassment 2nd, a violation was issued.

Decarolis was arraigned on both warrants from the two incidents.
