According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Floyd man was charged after an investigation of a domestic incident that occurred in the Town of Floyd on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Matthew A. Sypolt, 28, of Floyd was charged with Endangering the welfare of a child less than seventeen (Class A misdemeanor) Attempted assault in the third degree (Class B misdemeanor), and Harassment in the second degree (Violation) after it was alleged that on 01/11/2022 while involved in a domestic dispute at a residence on Price Road in the Town of Floyd, Sypolt administered excessive corporal punishment to a juvenile in the home and the victim sustained multiple abrasions and bruises.

Sypolt was booked and is currently being held pending arraignment in Oneida County CAP Court.
