According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol a Rome woman was arrested for stealing a tow behind camper on January 12th. On December 2nd deputies were called to an address in the outer district of Rome on Rome-Taberg Road for a stolen camper. The camper was located by members of the road patrol at an address on Oswego Road in Rome. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Unit and after the investigation concluded, Crystal Smothers, 44 of Rome was arrested for Grand Larceny 3rd, a class D Felony.

Smothers was arraigned in Rome City Court on the 12th of January and was released on her own recognizance and set to appear back in court at a later date. The camper was returned to the owner the same day it was reported stolen.
