According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, two teens were hospitalized after a personal injury vehicle crash on Randel Road in the Town of Verona that occurred just after 4:00 PM this afternoon.

Alexander J. Guinta, 19, of Munnsville was driving a 2020 Honda 4D northbound on Randel Road in Verona, failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, and slid on the icy road. Guinta's car crossed the southbound lane where it first struck the guide rail, then a utility pole. Though Guinta and his front passenger were not injured, Faith M. Johnson, 16, of Verona, and Suzanne T. Judge, 16, of Chittenango each suffered minor injuries and were transported by Vineall Ambulance to Oneida Health. Guinta was cited for speed not reasonable for the conditions and issued a traffic summons returnable to Verona Town Court on an upcoming date.

Members of Durhamville Fire & Rescue and Vineall Ambulance assisted at the scene.
