Utica Woman Arrested at the Oneida County Court House

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol deputies arrested a Utica woman after she attempted to enter the Oneida County Court Court House with “metal knuckles” on February 16, 2022, at approximately 1:15 PM. Shatiqua Carter-McFarland was taken into custody after she was in possession of the “metal knuckles” which are illegal to possess in New York State, while she was going through the security process to enter the building.

Carter-McFarland was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office where she was processed on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third degree which is a Class D Felony. Carter-McFarland was arraigned in Oneida County CAP Court where she was Released on her Own Recognizance due to New York State Bail reform law, and is expected to appear in Utica City Court at a later date.
