Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol announces the arrest of one of Oneida County’s 2021 Top Ten Most Wanted.

Joseph A. Styles, age 32, of Utica, NY, had been wanted since October of 2020, by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office for the charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree.

In January of 2022, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit developed information that Styles fled New York and was now residing in the State of Florida. Through investigation, an address of where Styles was staying was learned and a Lead was sent to the US Marshal’s Service and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

On February 1, 2022, members of the US Marshal’s Task Force and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in Crestview, Florida, and found Styles hiding in the residence. Styles was taken into custody and held at the Okaloosa County Jail, pending extradition.

On February 19, 2022, Styles was extradited back to New York and is currently being held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility, pending his arraignment in Oneida County Court.
