According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, a Lafayette woman sustained injuries as a result of a two car motor vehicle accident on Rt 12 in Waterville.

As investigated and reported by Deputy B. Warcup, on March 22, 2022, at about 11:26 AM, Carolyn Bice, 50, of Lafayette, NY was traveling north on Rt 12 in the Town of Marshall at the intersection of Lewis Rd. A southbound vehicle driven by Horst Kunze, 68, of Waterville was turning left onto Lewis Rd and turned in front of Bice's vehicle. Bice attempted to steer right but was unable to avoid the near head-on collision. Bice sustained chest and leg injuries and was treated at the scene by Waterville Fire Dept. and then transported by Central Oneida County Ambulance to St. Elizabeth's hospital. Kunze, who was uninjured in the crash, received a summons for Failure to Yield for a left turn, returnable in the Town of Marshall Court at a later date. Also assisting at the scene were Edwards Collision and Mercurio's Towing who removed both vehicles.
